OnlineEducation.com Officially Launches and Announces Innovative Choices for People Seeking Online Degrees

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) August 27, 2009

OnlineEducation.com officially launches its website proudly offering consumers innovative choices and all the latest information when searching for an online education,. With the huge growth experienced in the online education market over the past few years, it is more important than ever for consumers to have a trusted source for reliable information when planning for and earning an online degree.

The reasons people choose to earn an online degree are as varied and diverse as the people themselves. In the current economic climate of high unemployment and job insecurity, many workers are seeking to further their education with an online degree which, in turn, makes them more attractive to employers in an already competitive and over-crowded job market.

Online education is more convenient for the majority of people who work either full or part- time since the classes are offered online and can be completed whenever and wherever the person chooses. This type of flexibility is usually not possible when attending a traditional university.

Earning an online degree is easy and doesn’t require rigid class hours, driving to and from classes, or worrying about assignments when a lecture is missed. All that is needed is a computer. The time and money saved by not having to commute and park are added bonuses for online students. Many times this translates into earning a degree in even less time than with a traditional, on campus program.

One type of degree offered is an online Associate’s Degree. These are often called two-year degrees because the course load, typically 60 credit hours, can usually be completed in two years. Associate degrees are normally divided into two categories: a transfer degree and a career or professional degree. Transfer degrees form the foundation of a bachelor’s degree and consist of general education requirements which can later be used towards a more advanced degree. A career or professional degree is a two-year degree which is awarded and then allows the person to enter the workforce.

Another degree available online is a online Bachelor’s Degree. This degree is designed to be completed in four years, with a normal curriculum consisting of 120 hours. Generally, a “major” is chosen and there is an emphasis on courses specifically dealing with this field during the last two years of study. Education, business, marketing, etc. are all examples of four year degrees.

A online Master’s Degree is also offered online. This advanced degree normally requires a Bachelor’s Degree and can take anywhere from one to three years to complete, depending on the field of study. A person can choose to earn this degree in the same field that was earned with a Bachelor’s Degree, but it can sometimes be awarded in an entirely different discipline.
